Scottisch lavender shortbread

Lavender didn't grow in our backyard. So last year we planted some small bushes in our vegetable garden. First it looked like they wouldn't survive there either, but this year they thrive on their new spot. Last week I tied most of the flowers up in bushes and hung them to dry. The scent seems to increase with the drying process. Our house is filled with a delicious lavender smell after baking these cookies.
