Last thursday, the kids were free from school, we went to visit
the Oranjezaal in Huis ten Bosch. The palace is going to be renovated to be the future home of the king. Until then the Oranjezaal is open to the public for a few months. We got a wonderful guided tour by Marlies, who explained everything about the history of the paintings in the room. All painted in admiration of the deceased
Frederik Hendrik, commissioned by his widow
Amalia. Our girls loved it, felt like princesses for half an hour. There are still (free) tickets available
here! And when you are in The Hague anyway, you could also visit the Mauritshuis to see the
seventeenth century selfies exhibition. Taking selfies with famous painters is allowed.
