This weekend I've been working on party decorations for our 100-party. I have been looking for straws in the right colours (teal, petrol, aqua, nude colours, grey) for making geometric ornaments, but couldn't find any. So I decided to wrap (extra long) straws with painters tape. I felt really silly wrapping straw after straw after straw.  Even sillier when the tape started to come loose and I had to wrap them all with a second layer of better tape. But the gems are looking wonderful. I'm going to make more. Feeling less silly. I started out following this tutorial, but along the way I simplified the gems a bit.
