Zelfmaakboek presentation

Last sunday we had our book presentation at Polare in Den Bosch. For two people who don't like to be in the centre of attention it was quite exciting. Floortje and I handed out the first Stoere Zelfmaakboek voor Jongens (en meiden) to Eelze who took a lot of the pictures in the book. Can you see us being proud? Publisher Ploegsma posted some more pictures. From now on the book can be found in my Etsy shop (signed!), most Dutch bookstores and online (here for example). Or you can send me an e-mail.

Het Stoere Zelfmaakboek voor jongens (en meisjes)!

We're excited to announce our new book: The tough DIY book for boys (and girls)! It's almost there. Floortje and I have written it together this time. We had a lot of fun writing it. The distance between us (Floortje lives in Sweden) wasn't any problem. Apart from some 'business meetings' we did everything by mail and Skype. The book will appear (at Ploegsma) in the end of June, but you can already pre-order the book in my Etsy-shop. You'd be the first to receive a signed copy.

Money eater

Yay! One of the chapters from my book is featured in Knippie. A magazine with patterns for making childrens' clothes and other creative projects. The coin purse is even on the front cover. And there's a give-away coming with it. You have a chance of winning my book when you fill out this form or send a postcard.

Famous family

I had been interviewed for a local newspaper. So I knew a piece about me and my book would be published this weekend. But to our surprise we saw a picture of our youngest in the same issue! About the balletperformance a few weeks ago. What a coincidence!

Wonderful day

I was not looking forward to the presentation of my book. Of course I liked to see all the people that came specially for me, but I'm not fond of being the center of attention. But it turned out to be a great gathering. A great location, my favourite bookstore (selexyz adr.heinen), delicious catering (tijdink & tijdink) and good company! And for the first time I signed my book. Many times. Feels strange that people would like to have my signature. Sometimes getting the attention is not bad at all! (pictures: Casper Peters)

Want one too?

My book is out! Yesterday I had the presentation. More about that later. But for now I want to let you know that from now you can buy and order 'het grote zelfmaakboek voor meisjes' in many (also online) bookshops. But if you want a signed book, you can order it at my new site (not complete yet, but working). It will be signed and a personal note can be added. Order here!

Yes!

And there it was. My book, Het Grote Zelfmaakboek voor Meisjes, fell in our mailbox. So strange to hold it in my hands. And to my surprise Francine Oomen, a famoud Dutch writer for teenagers, wrote a nice note for the wrap around the cover! From june 1st it will be available in the shops.

You are invited!

A few weeks from now 'Het Grote Zelfmaakboek voor Meisjes' will be out! And a party (or should I say presentation) is being organized in a bookstore in Den Bosch. On june 1st, 18.00h. When you happen to live close enough, you are invited to join and pick up your own signed copy. Just send me an e-mail with your address and I will make sure you'll get an invitation. I would love to see you there!

From the book

We had to come up with presents for three big boys turning 5 and 6. What was easier than taking a project from my own (soon to be published) book? :D Each boy got his own personal stool. I didn't take pictures of two of the three stools. But I could 'borrow' one picture from Jilles mothers blog. I think the parents liked this present better than the boys, that's why we added a small toy too.
