And her name is: Rosetta
Last saturday N had an off-day. She did not feel well and also heard that she didn't go through to the swimming exams. This asked for some extra care. Since J and dad were gone all day to the hockey tournament, N and I went upstairs to my atelier to make her a Tante Hilde doll. She chose every fabric, type and colour of the hair ("yellow like me"), what kind of face the doll got and what dress. She helped me sewing, stuffed the arms and legs, wrapped the wool for the hair and embroidered the eyelashes. We spend some cosy 4 hours before her new friend was finished. The off-day was gone.
Consolation mice
To thank Trixs' mother I made her some mice to play with and divert her thoughts. Fabric scraps, felt ears, rope tail and catnip inside. The smell of the dried catnip makes the toys attractive for cats. Of course I also sewed some toys for our Trix. I didn't use a tutorial, but there are several of them on the internet. For example here and here.
For Maksim and Lev
Two whales for two small guys we hadn't seen for a while. These whales are really easy to make. One of them was made from old pinstripe trousers of my husband. You'll find the pattern here. The site is in Russian, but when you're a bit experienced in sewing the pattern should be enough. And there are a lot of cute patterns on the site. Pictures are not very stylish, but when you add your own taste, many of these softy's could turn out really nice.

The Toy Society hosts a Christmas drop: Just leave a toy somewhere, to be found by someone, who can take it home. Spreading a bit of random love in the holiday season. This little fellow was left outside a theater today. I hope he finds a loving home.
Vladimir?
This doll is for a baby-boy, who is expected to be born in september. His future parents came to visit us today. We had a relaxed time, having lunch and spending most of the time in the garden. The belly with the baby in it made my elder daughter wondering. And after the couple had left, she popped the big question: how are baby's made? Luckily I have been expecting this question for a while, so I had my story straight. The doll is made with the Black Apple Doll-pattern, but I changed arms, legs and hair.
Appelhartje
Orange Theme
This little softy is specially designed for a The Toy Society-drop. She was adopted right-away by my family and they could not understand why I was just leaving her somewhere outside. I had to promise my daughters to make them a 'little rainbow', as they called her, too. This morning we dropped her. I was excited like I child doing something sneaky. I hope Little Rainbow finds a new home soon.
Start young

I found this charming idea at recently found Noeks blog. The children made their own softie this afternoon. A piece of fabric, fibre-tip-pens for textile and some filling. They made a drawing, I sewed it to a back and they put in the filling. Here they're showing off the results: a squirl and a cat. Very proud to have made their own softie.
For Angie

Today this package went to the mailoffice. It's for a swap with Angie from Singapore. I sent her this handmade tote-bag, felt softie, gifttags, the eyes-of-the-night-t-shirt and some other not homemade stuff. I hope she will like it.
Matryoshka dolls

Another swap from Swap-bot. A doll made after a pattern on craftzine. Very easy and fun to make! I sent it yesterday together with some homemade postcards, gifttags, tea and chocolate to my swappartner Gypsy.

And these are the beautiful dolls I received from Gypsy. Along came some very cute crayons for my daughters. Thank you.
Esmee and Madelief

These two dolls I made for my daughters for Sinterklaas. They are Ruby Dolls. Made after a pattern of One Red Robin. All dolls in our house get names that were on the list for naming our children but didn't make it in the end. Esmee and Madelief are two names of that list.
