Last minute

Still looking for some Sint-presents (or already for Christmas-gifts)? Here are two ideas. My youngest received these stickers from Djeco in her shoe (this Sint bought a set for herself, too). We got them at Maanfabriekje. They have lot's of fantastic Djeco-stuff. The other tip is a knitting-fork. A very basic form of knitting. Even our four-year-old has no problem using it. And they love doing it, because it gives result quickly. You can find them at Seizoenerwinkel, where they also have this wonderful tree.

Sint-swap

For Maud I made this poetry-album with lock. Not exactly the fabric her mother wanted to see, but that fabric got lost in the mail. I hope Maud will love this present from Saint Nicolas anyway.

Tiny treasures

In the beginning of this week I received another copy of the magazine Cotton Time from Jo. In there I saw the crochet-patterns for these cute flower rings. Perfect for the fine yarn I recently thrifted (can you believe it, just 1€ for the complete box!). A tip for you thrifters: when you see a box of stuff you like, don't ask for the price of one piece. But ask for the price of the whole box (even when there are some items in it you like less). You'll get a better deal! My mother taught me this and it works.

Have-to-have's

Aren't they great? When I saw these buttons on Petra's Vervlogen Dagen I loved them right away. So I went to Etsy-shop Remember Wynn and ordered my own. They came quickly and in a cute little bag. Angie not only has buttons in different sizes in her shop but also a variety of cute labels. Go check them out.

Me & the cake stand

In between all other things I had to find time to make an invitation. I'll be reaching the dreaded age of forty next week. Nevertheless I decided to invite thirteen girlfriends, from different stages of my life, to celebrate the occasion with a high tea-like lunch and a creative activity (any ideas?). I am so looking forward to this party!

Addiction

Yes, I've been there again, the thriftstore. I found a small book called '40 happy dolls', published in the '70. It appeared to be a translation of a japanese book and that shows. So much cuteness inside. I had to make this red riding hood immediately.
You could enlarge the picture of the pattern to use it. The red body is 19cm in height.

Lucky me

My favorite thrift store is next to the supermarket. Almost ervery time I do groceries I spend a few minutes in the second hand store too. Today someone had just dropped off a set of small craft books. Among them a book bout dying fabrics and wool with plants. I wrote about that earlier and I'm looking forward to find time to do some dying myself.

J's tutorial

J. learned how to do this at school en she wanted to show us. So we took thin white paper, gathered some leaves outside, put them face down under the paper, drew with crayons over it, painted them with very watery water-paint and cut out. Later I sewed them together.

Not fast, but going on

No, we're not going to have a pink kitchen. It is just a coating before plastering the wall. As we speak the plasterer is working downstairs. Yesterday we decided on the colour for the lower part of the kitchen. Green. I'm happy we finally found the perfect colour. It goes well with the seventies atmosphere of our house. The sink will be of cast stone (antracite) And the upper shelves will be in light oak.
