Here it is

You’ll need 3 different fabrics. Two for the outside, one for the inside. Try to match them, but they shouldn’t be too perfect together, otherwise the result will be boring. All measurements are included a 1cm seam. Iron between every step to get the best result.
1. This is what you need: •fabric A. 2 times 22x6cm •fabric B. 22x20cm •fabric C. 22x28cm • interfacing 22x28cm •2 ribbons of 6cm. Iron the interfacing to the back of the fabric for the inside of the basket (fabric C.).
2. Sew the fabric A.-pieces to both sides of fabric B. These together have the same size as fabric C.
3. Fold inner and outer layer in two. Right sides facing inwards. And sew along both sides. You’ll have two pockets.
4. For making the bottom the corners need to be sewn and cut off. Fold neatly with the seam exactly in the middle.
5.Draw the 8cm-line (see picture). Do this on both sides and with both pockets.
6. Sew and cut of the corners.
7. Turn the outer basket with the good side outwards.
8. Put the inner basket inside the other one.
9. Fold in the edges inwards 1cm. Starting with placing the seams of the two baskets on top of each other and then put in the pins around the rest of the edge.
10. Remove pin near the seams and put the ribbon, folded in two, between the two layers of fabric.
11. Start sewing the two baskets together near one of the ribbons.
Your basket is finished.

Very nicely laid out tutorial! I've been making baskets too, but I think mine are bit too tall...

Geweldig!

These are fabulous! I was just thinking I needed to buy more baskets to hide all my crafting supplies (they're seriously taking over my life), but these are much better than anything in the stores!
Thanks so much!

What a nice fabric!! ;-) love the mixing of the colors and patterns. We're now enjoying our trip in the states (just saw a bear in the woods during our hike, pretty scary). I managed to find a lot of beautiful fabric here, so i can make new baskets ;-)

Hoi Kristel,

Thanks for a great pattern - my first attempt at anything like this and it turned out nearly perfect - a great testament to how good the instructions are rather than my sewing skills.

Thanks for sharing!

Great basket, misread the instructions and used inches instead of CMs, luckily my fabric was stiff enough to stand on its own. A little floppy perhaps but turned out great. Thanks for the Tutorial.
