Snow-drops

New labels! This time with the full address of my weblog. I'm really happy about the way they turned out. Not only labels arrived in our house, but spring too.

Woodland elf

Carnival is here again. The kids celebrate it at school, daycare and ballet. So, costumes have to be made. This year I was lucky. Janne wanted to wear her little-red-riding-hood costume from last year. Neeltje turned into an elf right away with this hat. It is the only thing I made for carnival this year. From the book bend-the-rules-sewing from Amy Karol.

Busy

I'm so busy carving stamps that there's little room for other creative activities. I miss it. But I like making stamps, love to spend time with the kids, have to work, enjoy volunteer-work and I am addicted to crafting. I have to find a solution for this.

Kralorium

I would love to learn how to make glass beads. Look what an amazing results can be made. These beads are made by Dorith from Kralorium. We did a little swap. Se send these lovely beads and a set of extras. The frogs are for my girls. For myself I asked for these easter-beads. I think they will make perfect easter decorations in my tree.

Finally a result

Pottery in irregular shapes is what I like most. Out of material for roof-insulation I carved these shapes to make a mold for small soup-bowls. The two bowls on the right came out of this mould. I'm content about the way they turned out. I'm now thinking about the decoration.

Cutting, cutting, cutting

Our youngest tought herself how to use scissors. With her left hand! (for drawing and eating she uses her right hand). And she is practising for hours a day. Just cutting pieces of paper in smaller pieces of paper. She enjoys it a lot. My joy is a bit smaller: everywhere I go in our house I find little pieces of paper.

Vlijtig all over the world

Never expected so many stamp-orders. But I'm even more surprised about the quantity of destinations. Of course to the Netherlands but these other countries are on my orderlist now: USA, UK, Australia, Italy, France, Norway, Germany and Switserland.

Felt hair tie tutorial

A quick and easy tutorial for making a lovely present for little and big girls. These will go in one of the giftbags for my daughters 5th birthday.

Scandinavian

With friends we went to a dolls-theater this morning. Very funny and the kids loved it. Afterwards we ate waffles, a recipe from Norway, from our vintage waffle iron from Sweden. Very seventies. Found at a queens-day-flea-market.

Scary

When pregnant of my daughters I made them both a (much-used) baby-quilt. Now it's time for a bigger quilt for them. Made with pieces of fabric from their babyclothes. Putting the right fabrics together is not easy and it is quite scary to cut those little dresses in pieces without knowing the result of this project. I'm not sure yet about cutting up the sweet little dress on the right. Although the colours are perfect.

Babyccino

Esther ordered stamps for her children. That's how I got to know the lovely blog that she runs together with three friends in different countries. Babyccino. It is about women/mothers in big cities and more. A daily read since I discovered it. Also make sure to check the book-section. There you'll find some lovely childrens books.

For Sanne

This afternoon my daughter is going to her first birthday-party. Her first best friend is celebrating her 5th anniversary. She likes to draw and craft. So we made her a box filled with little things she can use: folding-paper, felt-pens, foam heart-stickers, a spirograph, a name-stamp and pink inkpads. And a paper-heart-garland for her bedroom because she loves hearts and pink.

Try this at home.

After a busy day and a quick dinner we took some 'family drawing time'. An idea from The Creative Family, written by Amanda Blake Soul. And it's a lovely idea! Just take the time to do some drawing together. It's fun and relaxing at the same time. We're going to try to make this a regular thing.
