Beyond innocence
Today was the opening of an exhibition with work from Ruud van Empel at the Noordbrabants Museum. Innocent children in a natural environment, at first sight. But the works are slightly unsettling. Probably because these are not real children, but every face is constructed with parts of several models. The natural background is composed in the same way. Beautiful work. Well worth visiting I would say. We were so lucky to get a tour by the artist himself!
